Dear Laura Cline,
So far in English 102 my biggest challenge is staying focused, I have never felt so pressured to do so much in a time span of a week. Being busy with not just this class but in others as well. Constantly fighting time and making sure I do not procrastinate to far along. My biggest success is getting the good grades and not procrastinating too much.
The readings in the class have not really affected me at all. I am not much of a reader and usually just read to get the assignments done in time and well. Literary analysis is way different but at the same time very similar. Different by the way my brain is completely fried after writing an essay. It takes a toll out on me I am more of a relaxed essay kind of person so making sure I have great detail and make really good points that support everything else is hard. It is the same because I have kept the same writing process, with outlines, drafts and such.
My goals for the second half of the session is to make sure I stay kept up to date on assignments turning them in on time with the best quality I can give. Also another goal is to in general finish it! I do not want to get off track and start slacking so staying focused is important so that I can get a good grade in the end.
I hope to enjoy the rest of the semester and continue to grow in my literary analysis essay writings.
Your student,
Madeline Simon
Hi Madeline,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you when you talk about making sure to keep track with the assignments in this class when there are others that require your attention as well. I remember on essays having to do the outlines and multiple drafts and am kind of glad that in this class we only have to do one draft and one final. Was never much one for the outlines and such. I also agree with you on keeping a good grade in this class because who would want to do all this work and then get a bad grade? I know I wouldn’t. I’m surprised at the grade I am getting in this class. Lol. Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in your second half of this semester and I’m sure you will do just fine.
That was a good letter! I agree that finishing the work on time is important! Your letter showed complete honesty and innocence, and I found that refreshing because when you get down to it making the time and making yourself sit down and do your work is not as easy as it sounds, it takes a lot of self discipline and I believe with growth and age that will come. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI definately agree. Its difficult to stay on track in these courses. But I think the satisfaction that a good grade in online courses is sometimes better than that of an in class lecture. Becasue at least in my epxerience, I feel like for the person I am I equate more of sense that "I did it" rather than an instructor spoonfed me the information for sixteen weeks and I just happpened to do well on the exams.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes!
I really enjoyed reading your letter, it was fantastic. I agree that I read just to read because it is required. I'm not real big on reading. I feel the same exact way with you on the second semester. It's been a hard semester trying to keep up with everything and I need to just learn to set time out for it rather than procrastinating so much!
